The Thin Blue Line (1988) is a groundbreaking documentary in which director Errol Morris reinvestigates the murder of a Dallas police officer, building a compelling case that Randall Dale Adams was wrongly convicted. Through stylized reenactments, direct-to-camera interviews, and a hypnotic score by Philip Glass, the film examines contradictions, biases, and flaws in the justice system while leaving viewers to weigh the truth for themselves. The film's release led to the reopening of Adams’s case and his exoneration.
