In honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, journalist Lottie Joiner is convening a community conversation about the Declaration's founding ideals: freedom, equality, liberty and democracy.
Join a group of trailblazing New Orleans residents; Anne Smith Collins, the first Black Chief Curator at the New Orleans Museum of Art; and Ms. Rachel Wilcox, founder of Wilcox Academy, an early education center, for a community conversation about what it means to be an American. Together, we'll answer the question: how is the New Orleans community living out the themes of the Declaration of Independence? The conversation will be part of an audio podcast and article published on the American Academy of Arts and Sciences website. Lend your voice to this important discussion.
Sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.
