Explore New Orleans music and culture during this 6-week interactive program series designed for children ages 3 - 5 years and their caregivers. Registration required.
Little Stompers invites families on a journey through the rich cultural traditions that gave birth to the city’s iconic sound. Over six weeks, children and caregivers will explore rhythms, melodies, and movement rooted in African and European musical heritage — from the beats of Congo Square to the brass bands of the French Quarter. Each 30-minute class is an immersive celebration of New Orleans history, featuring live music, storytelling, call-and-response singing, and joyful second line parades. Through playful learning and connection, Little Stompers helps families experience the magic of our city’s music and the cultures that created it — one stomp at a time.
In partnership with Second Line Arts Collective. Sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.
