Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the creation of the Historic District Landmarks Commission at the City Archives & Special Collections with an Open House and Special Presentation.
The open house will feature documents, photographs, slides, and other materials from the Commission’s history. Archives staff will be on hand to share these materials, answer questions, and talk about the Commission’s records.
At 12pm, we’ll also have a special presentation covering the history of the Historic District Landmarks Commission, how to use its resources, and how its records are preserved and made available at the City Archives & Special Collections.
Explore the history, learn more about the Commission’s work, and discover what its records can tell us about New Orleans.
