Writing a novel is difficult, and writing a novel in a month is very difficult. Join like-minded writers to share tips on character, plot, and time management, while working toward your novel goals.
National Novel Writing Month began in 1999 as a daunting but straightforward challenge: write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days. Now, each year on November 1, hundreds of thousands of people around the world begin to write, determined to end the month with a first draft.
Each week, we'll go over writing tips focused on a different aspect of novel writing - character, plot, and time management - then spend some time writing together, and circle back at the end of the session to share thoughts, struggles, successes, and tips for moving closer to a finished draft you can be proud of.
November 1: Develop strong characters who can drive your story forward.
November 8: Try out different methods of outlining and plotting to keep track of storylines and set up challenges for your characters to overcome.
November 15: Learn time management methods to help you finish the month with a completed draft, and keep that momentum going in the next stage of editing and rewriting.
Bring a laptop or the writing tools of your choice, and come write with us.
