Creative and interactive playtime featuring giant-sized building materials. Spark creativity and promote imaginative play.
Children choose building materials, think about what they want to build, draw what they want to create, and use the chosen materials to build what they designed. This program is for children 2 - 5 years old to enhance their Library experience through loose parts play and encourage communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
Sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.
In 2016, Mid-City Library relocated to The Automotive Life Insurance Company Building. Built in 1963, this mid-century modern gem was designed by Curtis & Davis Architects, who are also known for designing the Superdome and the Main Library on Loyola Ave. In 2010, the building was recognized as a historic landmark by the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission.
