Have fun while building literacy skills.
Kids in grades K - 2 will read, write, and play games with teen mentors to strengthen literacy skills through creative storytelling, writing, and reading activities.
Light dinner will be served.
Register in advance to sign a K - 2 student up as a Little Reading Buddy. Additional consent forms will need to be completed in advance or at the first session. While each week centers on a unique theme, it is encouraged that Little Buddies attend all 6 consecutive sessions on the following Wednesdays: 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, and 11/6.
Reading Buddies x Wee Write is a collaboration between New Orleans Public Library and 826 New Orleans’ Early Literacy Initiative, LitUp!.
Sponsored by The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.

Norman Mayer Library is named for New Orleans businessman and one of the original Tulane College of Commerce and Business guarantors, Norman Mayer. After his passing, his wife donated money to the New Orleans Public Library to have the Library opened. Doors opened in 1949, and the Library has been serving the Gentilly area since.
