Celebrate the launch of "Local News," a collection written by local adult learners and published by Library partner, One Book One New Orleans.
Each year, One Book One New Orleans provides copies of their selected book, along with a curriculum, to adult education programs throughout the city. The instructors in those programs then use these tools to help further their students' literacy skills.
This year, students have contributed pieces inspired by the One Book One New Orleans 2022 selection, I Feel To Believe by Jarvis DeBerry. These contributions were compiled into a collection titled Local News. Local News are the students' stories, told in their words, about their lives, their neighborhoods, and their city.
Please join us in celebrating these students! Contributors will read their pieces, followed by a book signing. All in attendance will receive a free copy of the book. Refreshments will be provided. This event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
