Live readings are an essential part of a writer’s career, but reading in front of an audience can be daunting. Learn basic performance skills and techniques to read with confidence.
Daphne Armbruster, trained theatre actress and Director of Community Outreach for Third Lantern Lit will lead this workshop. Whether you’re a fledgling or seasoned author, learning and honing these skills will set you up for greater success reading in public.

In the second hour, attendees have the option to workshop their pieces with Daphne. If you want to practice reading, please bring an excerpt of 500 words or less to workshop.

Milton H. Latter Memorial Library is located on St. Charles Avenue. The 1907 neo-Italianate mansion was generously donated to the city by the Latter family to serve as a library in memory of their son. Today the branch offers programs for all ages as well as reading rooms, computers, printers, and wi-fi.
