Twinkie Chan is a San Francisco based crochet designer with an insatiable appetite for creating fun, food-themed accessories. She launched her website in 2005 with a dozen scarves and some tater tot dolls. Since then, her unique work has been featured online, in print, on television, and in art shows. The demand for her crochet patterns inspired her to write her first book, Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies: 20 Yummy Treats To Wear in Fall 2010. Her second book, Twinkie Chan’s Crocheted Abode a la Mode, was published in Spring 2016. She also launched a licensed lifestyle brand, "Yummy You! by Twinkie Chan," to make her signature crochet pieces more accessible and more affordable. You can see her crocheted bakery installation "Sucre Fleuf!" at Sweet Tooth Hotel in Dallas, TX, which has been on view since 2020.
Maker extraordinaire, Courtney is the author of 5 art books translated into 6 languages. Courtney teaches workshops all over the country and online at Creativebug.com where she is Editor-in-Chief. Her work has been featured on Oh Happy Day, Design Sponge, the SF Chronicle, Instagram and BuzzFeed. She makes something everyday and can be found on instagram as @ccerruti. She sees books as objects to be read and re-purposed, candy wrappers as paper flower petals, toilet paper tubes as a menagerie of animals. She sees the potential in the discarded, history in the mundane and art in the everyday. She saves everything, makes anything and teaches from a place of passion and authenticity. Courtney believes everyone is creative and she’d rather spend an evening drinking tea and painting than doing anything else (except maybe scavenging treasures abroad). You can find her books online and at your local bookstore.
