The City of New Orleans GIS offers data and spatial information services, including the following:
- Streetwise: See live accident location and flood reports.
- Vieux Carré Virtual Library: Explore the history of French Quarter buildings.
- RouteWise: View parade routes and track parade start and end.
- RoadWork: See planned, active, and completed capital projects.
- Trash Collection Viewer: Find your garbage and recycling collection days.

GIS Day takes place every year on the third Wednesday of November during Geography Awareness Week.

Main Library
The Main Library, located in the Central Business District, opened in December 1958. The building, encompassing three main floors and two sub-basements, is the Library's flagship location, providing the system's largest collection of popular and research sources.
The Main Library offers a wide collection of books, music, and movies, and hosts many programs for children, teens, and adults.
