Have fun while volunteering with kids at the library.
Teens in grades 8 - 12 may sign up to volunteer as a Big Reading Buddy this Fall to help early readers (in grades K - 2) become more independent readers. Light dinner will be served.
Big Reading Buddies are asked to commit to attending all 6 sessions on the following Wednesday evenings:
This opportunity provides a total of 10.5 volunteer hours over 6 weeks. A brief phone interview and online orientation are required prior to volunteering with this program.

Norman Mayer Library is named for New Orleans businessman and one of the original Tulane College of Commerce and Business guarantors, Norman Mayer. After his passing, his wife donated money to the New Orleans Public Library to have the Library opened. Doors opened in 1949, and the Library has been serving the Gentilly area since.
