Meet Derrick Barnes, the award-winning author of books such as I Am Every Good Thing and Crown: Ode to the Fresh Cut. Registration for Books & Breakfast is recommended but not required.
Barnes' Author Talk celebrates the culmination of our second NOLA Readers 2.0, a collaboration between New Orleans Public Library, Louisiana Children's Museum, and Office of Youth and Families. NOLA Readers 2.0 provided a literacy experience around one book, I Am Every Good Thing, for second grade students in New Orleans through field trips to the Louisiana Children's Museum and the Main Library.

Norman Mayer Library is named for New Orleans businessman and one of the original Tulane College of Commerce and Business guarantors, Norman Mayer. After his passing, his wife donated money to the New Orleans Public Library to have the Library opened. Doors opened in 1949, and the Library has been serving the Gentilly area since.
