Teen volunteers, grades 8 - 12, and young students, grades K - 2, will read & write together to integrate literacy development through creative storytelling, writing, and reading-related activities.
The New Orleans Public Library in partnership with 826 New Orleans’ Early Literacy Initiative, LitUp!, presents Reading Buddies x Wee Write. Through peer-to-peer mentoring relationships, teens and young students will collaborate each Tuesday afternoon during the Spring Season around reading and writing. Each week young students will write and illustrate their very own book, foster their intellectual curiosities, and stretch their critical thinking abilities.
REGISTRATION info: Both K - 2 participants and teen volunteers must register in advance by Wednesday, March 6 (or until filled). Additional registration forms will be completed at first session (including a consent form).
