Programming Space

Experiment, create, and craft at this hands-on STEAM event for children ages 6 – 12.

Learn how parachutes work by testing out three different types of material to see which makes the best parachute.

STEAM programming focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. STEM and STEAM programming combine learning and fun, helping kids develop critical thinking skills while exploring their creativity.  

Sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library. 

This is a recurring monthly program that occurs on the 2nd Tuesday unless otherwise noted.

The Children's Resource Center is an original Carnegie Library that has served the public since 1908. In 2026, it was repaired, refreshed, renewed, and reopened as a dedicated early literacy center.
