Meet the local teen creators of the Water Wonderful World reading / coloring book and Trinity City Comics. Pick up free books, learn about water in New Orleans, and make a “snoball in a bag."
The Water Wonderful World coloring book was created entirely by a group of youth artists. This book is a resource for kids, parents, and educators who want to learn more about water in our wonderful world of New Orleans.
Trinity City Comics is a comic created by teens and adults set in a future New Orleans in 2078. Follow three teen heroes fighting for climate justice, community safety, and disability rights.
Both of these books focus on how we live with water here in our beautiful city, and both books were created by local teens who will be at the event to sign books and answer questions.
Families can make their own "snoball in a bag" and learn about New Orleans water and stormwater systems from the Sewage and Water Board of New Orleans. SWBNO will introduce their Enviroscape® Watershed / Nonpoint Source Model and lead kids of all ages through a hands-on demonstration of how pollution can effect the bodies of water surrounding New Orleans.
This event is for kids 6 - 18 years of age and their families.
Sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library and Trinity City Arts.
