Get your hands dirty and learn how to grow plants from seed with Barcelo Gardens.
Barcelo Gardens staff teaches a hands-on gardening class, including all the necessary skills to take you from seed to harvest.
You’ll learn the following:
Participants will practice their skills by planting their own plant to bring home.
Barcelo Gardens is a community garden and fresh produce market in Upper 9th Ward, New Orleans, dedicated to helping people learn to grow and providing access to fresh produce.

In 2016, Mid-City Library relocated to The Automotive Life Insurance Company Building. Built in 1963, this mid-century modern gem was designed by Curtis & Davis Architects, who are also known for designing the Superdome and the Main Library on Loyola Ave. In 2010, the building was recognized as a historic landmark by the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission.
