In celebration of the 2024 Américas Award, classes from New Orleans are invited to a field trip featuring a talk by Pedro Martín, author and illustrator of "Mexikid, A Graphic Memoir."
Enjoy an author talk by award winning author and illustrator Pedro Martín, followed by highlights of Spanish language offerings from the Library. Pedro Martín is a Newbery Award honoree, winner of the Américas Award, the Pura Belpré Author Award, and Pura Belpré Illustrator Award.
If you're a 5th - 10th grade ELL, ELA, Social Studies, or Spanish language teacher from a school in New Orleans and interested in bringing your class in New Orleans, please email awander@nolalibrary.org by Monday, September 16th or until spots are filled.

The Main Library, located in the Central Business District, opened in December 1958. The building, encompassing three main floors and two sub-basements, is the Library's flagship location, providing the system's largest collection of popular and research sources.
