Author Libby Copeland will talk about her book "The Lost Family: How DNA Testing is Upending Who We Are," and archivist Amanda Fallis will demonstrate the use of Ancestry.com Library Edition.
Author Libby Copeland will explore the extraordinary cultural phenomenon of home DNA testing, which is redefining family history. This presentation will draw on research for Copeland’s new book, The Lost Family: How DNA Testing is Upending Who We Are, which the Wall Street Journal calls “a fascinating account of lives dramatically affected by genetic sleuthing.” With more than 35 million people having been tested, a tipping point has been reached. Virtually all Americans are affected, whether they have been tested or not, and millions have been impacted by significant revelations in their immediate families.
Stick around after the author talk for an Ancestry.com Library Edition demonstration with Amanda Fallis from the City Archives & Special Collections.
Ancestry.com Library Edition is normally only available in Library locations but is accessible from anywhere through the end of March 2021.
