Eric Seiferth will discuss rhythm & blues as it relates to the French Quarter and the development of rock ‘n roll through recordings, radio, and live performance.
Eric Seiferth is a curator and historian at The Historic New Orleans Collection focusing on 20th-century New Orleans and the musical heritage of the city. Since joining the Collection, he has co-curated a number of exhibitions including "Storyville: Madams and Music," awarded “Exhibition of the Year” by the LEH in 2017, and "New Orleans Medley: Sounds of the City." He is also currently directing the New Orleans Civil Rights Oral History Project, funded in part through a National Park Service Grant. He earned his BA and MA in American history from Tulane University.
